TAWNY FROGMOUTH CHICK - This capture is from my front garden in Samford Valley.
In spring, the birds of Samford Valley are endearing but also intense. Given that we don't we don't observe daylight saving time in Qld, their loud chirping can wake us at dawn, as early as 4 a.m.
This little lady and I hung out early one morning, she was in a slight pickle Re: learning to fly. Still wearing pyjamas, I went mildly feral at the magpies swooping her on our lawn. Loved seeing her family of 3 gather nearby, trying to help out too. They say it takes a village, and sometimes that's so true. Last seen, snoozing soundly with her mum on a branch. Officially adding tawny frogmouths to my favourite bird list.
This photograph reminds me that beauty can be found anywhere in nature if we take the time to see it.
I am a huge fan of decorating kitchens and bathrooms with the same detail of care as you would any other room. And I see this small collection as an ideal match for those spaces.
