This design job involved sourcing and styling for this newly purchased apartment in a modern high-rise by the Brisbane river in Tennyson. My client contacted me when she first purchased this home. And we spoke a couple of times about my clients vision for her new home. We decided to be patient while we waited until my clients belongings had arrived from England. In order to move forward in this new house; I needed to get to know and understand my clients home, her style and then organically house her belongings first. Finding the correct placement for beloved treasures is an important part of making a new house feel like home. From there, you’re able to see the new home and the planning and design stage can really begin.
I established a colour palate, based on colours and tones that already spoke to my client. I strengthened this palate through placement and through sourcing items that could add to this relationship. This colour palate was a key element in helping blend the old with the new. I sourced beautiful emerald green cushions. I sourced lamp shades that spoke to these cushions. I sourced / designed a large wide pink pouffe and a beautiful big statement mirror. I also sourced a tall boy for my clients bedroom.
