Hello,

Just thought I would let you know that I plan to introduce a “Homes with Charm” section on my blog on Fridays. My Wednesday post will operate as per the norm  – yes, I still absolutely adore being able to share my latest styling inspirations, adventures, pictures, inspiring-creatives and finds with you. Having said that – I have also been itching to showcase some of the housing talent that exists around these parts (mostly Brisbane because that’s where I live). I am not going to showcase just any type of houses – these places must poses a wholesome amount of heart and soul – not to mention have character, style and potential. I also am really looking forward to sharing some great things about my city with you – many houses here have history and architecturally – speaking have their fare share of natural character.

[gn_heading style=”1″]How we ended up in Brisbane[/gn_heading]

We haven’t always lived here in Brisbane – we moved here from Sydney just over 7 years ago and our reasons were very simple:

•  we were wanting a low maintenance city in a warm-ish climate and
•  to purchase a house close to the city
• and it be in a lovely suburb 

We chose not to holiday here first – we threw caution to the wind, packed up our 1yr old son and our humble-ish belongings and headed north for a well earned summer. Looking back, its hard not to have expectations when you move somewhere new (see our reasons above) and fortunately as fate would have it – Brisbane delivered on those. Can you believe that we actually went for a Sunday drive on our second day of being here – we happened across the suburb of Ashgrove and simultaneously my husband and I both knew it was the suburb we would call home?? So I thought it would be a nice idea to share some great doer uppers for first time buyers/ dreamers /investors  potentially looking for somewhere to make into a home and other all round gems that have caught my eye.
